How it works
Snap the plate. Know the ride.
Four taps from getting in to your parent knowing which auto you're in. These are the real screens.
Step 2 · as you sit down
Snap the plate.
Photograph the auto's number plate. Beacon reads it on your phone and you check it's right. Add the driver's name if you like.
Step 3 · one tap
Tell your parent.
WhatsApp or SMS opens with the message already typed: the time, the plate and where you're going. Attach the photo and send.
Step 4 · till you're home
Share it live.
Turn on live sharing and your parent gets a link that keeps updating: when you left, where you're headed, the auto, and a map.
Inside the app
Small app. It covers the bad moments.
Most rides are boring, and that's the point. For the ones that aren't, Beacon has a button for it.
No countdown. No waiting.
SOS sends your location and an urgent message straight away and keeps your location updating. If Mom doesn't reply, it alerts your backup contact. Calling 112 is its own button.
“Still doing OK?”
Beacon checks in during the ride. One tap says you're fine. If you haven't moved for 8 minutes, it asks on its own.
Every ride earns points.
+10 points for each ride you log. Spend them on outfits, headwear and accessories for your Buddy, from 40 to 200 points.
Flags
Something felt off?
Tick what was wrong (driver, route, vehicle) and add a note. The ride stands out in your history and the message says so.
Running late
It notices when you're overdue.
Set an ETA and Beacon warns you when the ride runs long, so you can check in before anyone panics.
Straight talk
Offline? It tells you.
No signal, low battery or no GPS each get a clear warning, so you know what will and won't get through.

Streaks
Keep the streak going.
Day streaks with 5 freezes for days you miss, plus ride stats and badges on your profile.
Grid Jam
Something to do on the ride.
An 8×8 block puzzle built in. Clear full rows and columns. Works with no signal.
For parents
No app for you. Just a message.
Your child sends it. You read it where you already are.
- On WhatsApp or SMS. The plate, the time and where they're headed, in English.
- A live link. Opens in any browser and keeps updating till they're home.
- A backup contact. If an SOS goes unanswered, Beacon alerts the next person.
- Set up together. A parent's consent is part of setting up a child's account.

Privacy
Your rides stay yours.
Beacon is for kids, so we keep it simple.
Stored on your phone.
Your rides, streak and contacts live on the phone you use Beacon on.
Delete means delete.
“Delete all my data” in Settings erases everything from the phone. It can't be undone.
Sharing stops when you stop it.
Your location only goes to people you send a live link to, and only while sharing is on.
No hidden mode. Never sold.
Beacon never tracks you in secret, and we never sell location data.

Who is Beacon for?
Kids and teens in India who take autos on their own, and the parents waiting for the “reached” text.
Does my parent need to download anything?
No. The message goes by WhatsApp or SMS, and the live link opens in any browser.
Does SOS call the police?
No. SOS sends your location and an urgent message to your parent, then to your backup contact if they don't reply. Calling 112 is a separate button, so you decide.
Does it work without internet?
Beacon warns you clearly when you're offline, low on battery or without GPS. Sending a message and live sharing need a connection. Grid Jam works anywhere.
Is it in Hindi?
Yes, every screen. Messages to your parent always go out in English.
Who can see my location?
Only the people you send your live link to, and only while sharing is on.
What will it cost?
We haven't set a price yet. Joining the waitlist is free.
When can I use it?
Beacon is in early access. Join the waitlist, or pick Beta Waitlist on our Discord, and we'll let you in as we open up.
